1. Stuff the Bus: This week begins our annual "Stuff the Bus" item drive. All items can be brought to homeroom to be dropped off.

2. Panther Chats / LVMS PTA Meeting: Don't forget to join Mr. Ippolito and Mr. Mirabella this Thursday, October 24th for "Panther Chats" at 6:30 PM in the LVMS Library. Immediately following will be the LVMS PTA Meeting at 7:30 PM.

3. Winter Sports Physicals Due: The deadline to submit physicals / paperwork to participate in Winter Sports at LVMS is this Friday, October 25th. Paperwork cannot be accepted after this deadline!

4. Halloween Dance: Tickets for the 7th and 8th grade Halloween Dance are on sale this week during all student lunch periods. The Halloween Dance is this Friday, October 25th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM

5. Upcoming PTA Events: Please check the LVMS PTA Section below for information on upcoming events. To list a few, Penny Wars is set to begin the week of 10/25 during lunch periods, there is a 6-8 Social on 11/8 at Randolph Climbing Center, and 11/12 starts the Scholastic Book Fair for students during school hours! If you have not yet, please consider joining the LVMS PTA to support our school.

Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled to begin on Monday, November 4th and conclude on Wednesday, November 6th. Many staff members have already began to schedule conferences with families. Due to the number of students, conferences are scheduled at the teachers request first. Parents are always encouraged to request a conference at any point by reaching out to the team of teachers.

Reminder! All dates follow the LVMS Early Dismissal Schedule (1:35 PM Ending Time)

Due to the volume of conferences, teams may schedule meetings outside of 11/4 - 11/6

7th & 8th Grade Halloween Dance: The LVMS Student Council is sponsoring the 7th and 8th Grade Halloween Dance on Friday, October 25th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Tickets will be on sale during lunch periods starting the week of October 21st.

Ski Club Winter 2025
There is a Mandatory meeting for first-time parents new to the club on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 6:00 PM in the PAC (Performing Arts Center) of LVMS.

Modern Dance Information Meeting

The LVMS Modern Dance Company will hold an interest meeting on Friday November 1st in Mrs. Pinto's office 3:30-4:15pm. Come dressed to dance, bring ideas for choreography, and your schedules. If you have any questions feel free to stop down and talk to Mrs. Pinto.

Throughout the 2024-25 school year, Mr. Ippolito and Mr. Mirabella will host "Panther Chats" for a behind the scenes look at LVMS. All LVMS families are invited to join us in the LVMS Library for a chance to get to know the LVMS Administrators, discuss various topics about the school, give feedback, provide input, and ask questions. This Marking Period we will discuss Middle School FAQs, Scheduling, Grading / OnCourse, and Club Offerings. Join us on Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 PM in the LVMS Library. "Panther Chats" will take place immediately before the LVMS PTA Meeting which is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.

Annually the National Junior Honor Society participates in "Stuff the Bus" to donate items to the Long Valley Interfaith Food Pantry. Please bring items to your homeroom during the week of October 21st.

Any student that is interested in participating in Winter 2024-25 Sports at LVMS must submit all required paperwork and physical information by 2:30 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024. Paperwork cannot be accepted after this date. In addition to this email.   All completed forms can be dropped off at the LVMS Main Office, placed in the locking blue mailbox outside of the main office, or submitted directly to Mrs. Hade, our school nurse. 
Physical forms and paperwork should not be submitted directly to the coaches at any point.

PENNY WARS IS BACK! October 28 - November 1

The LVMS PTA is sponsoring Penny Wars during all lunch periods next week, October 25th- November 1st. Each house will have their own bin to put coins in. All coins are worth points and all bills subtract points. The house with the most points will win Spirit Points for House Wars.

The Scholastic Book Fair is Back!

The Scholastic Book Fair will be at LVMS November 12th - 15th. Students can shop during the school day. More information about payment, eWallet, etc. will be shared in the next few weeks!

LVMS PTA SHOE DRIVE

This year the LVMS PTA is partnering with GotSneakers as a year-round fundraiser. To participate, simply drop your pairs of used athletic shoes in the available box that will be located in the LVMS lobby starting September 17.
